Join ACLC and featured speaker Micah Miller, Director of the Loon Program at Biodiversity Research Institute, for a virtual presentation titled “What Can Loons Teach Us About PFAS (forever chemicals) in the Environment?” Loons are widely used as bioindicators of contaminants in the environment. Since they eat fish, they sit at the top of lake food webs and their exposure represents what the entire lake faces. By studying PFAS exposure in loons across North America, we are discovering that loons are widely exposed to PFAS and that levels in some populations are of concern for their health.
Loon Zooms cost $10 per presentation, or $50 for access to all six.
