While we have learned much about the needs of loons during the breeding season, we are just now beginning to learn more about some of the needs of loons during the non-breeding season, including the times loons are overwintering as well as the times they are migrating to and from their breeding lakes. Join Jay Mager, PhD, behavior ecologist and professor of biological sciences at Ohio Northern University, for a discussion of what is currently being learned by a team of scientists about the loons that overwinter, and migrate through, the Jocassee Gorges region of South Carolina, a region identified by National Geographic as one the 100 Last Great Places on Earth.
Loon Zooms cost $10 to register, or register for all 6 for $50.
