Thank you so everyone who volunteered for the 2024 NY Annual Loon Census. The data collected year to year in the census provides us with a snapshot of the overall loon population in the state and helps researchers identify trends when analyzed over time. It is an important tool in managing the loon population in New York.

Registration for the 2025 NY Annual Loon Census will open on May 21 and can be accessed here.
