Paddling for Loons on Little Clear Pond

Join us at the Great Adirondack Birding Celebration where we will host a field trip that Sunday morning!

Little Clear Pond is a haven for Common Loons, with crystal clear water and healthy food sources for growing loon families. Dr. Nina Schoch is a wildlife veterinarian and Executive Director at the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation. Dr. Schoch’s research has focused on using Adirondack common loons as a sentinel species to better understand the impact of environmental contaminants on aquatic ecosystems. Dr. Schoch will lead an educational paddle in search of these beautiful symbols of Adirondack wilderness.

Activity Level: A morning of moderate paddling along flat water.
Other: Tandem canoes/ life vest/ paddle are provided or participants may bring their own.
